Xbox 360 Live: Massive Multiplayer Online

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

In the days of Pong, it would have been hard to imagine all the video games we take for granted these days. Handheld, high-tech, dancing on a mat that’s recorded by the TV. It would have seemed surreal.

Well, the surreal has become real and the newest addition to the video game revolution is XBox Game Consoles Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>Xbox 360 Live, a truly multimedia, multiplayer experience that surpasses anything we’ve previously understood about video games.

Though many people like to play video games with a friend, it is largely seen as a singular, solitary activity. But with the addition of Xbox 360 Live to the video game lineup, things are socially kickin’ now.

Simply put, Xbox 360 Live is an online gaming service using your Xbox or Xbox 360 video console. You subscribe to the service, and then can play games with or against friends or other players around the world. There are more than 100 Xbox games that are enabled for this service, and all Xbox 360 games are at least “Xbox 360 Live aware”.

What’s most striking about Xbox 360 Live is the method by which you communicate with others. Through a headset that’s either bundled with your gaming system or purchased separately, you can voice or text message your friends or other players. While you are signed on, you can see what your friends are doing, even to the extent you can tell what game they are playing and what level they are on.

Truly, this is not your dad’s Atari.

So, how do you get in on this interesting form of play? First, you should own an Xbox 360 video gaming system. Then you have to subscribe to the service, and given the features, it is surprisingly affordable.

There are a variety of ways to subscribe to Xbox 360 live. If you choose the gold package (most popular), you can get:

- Access to online multiplayer games
- Ability to download Xbox 360 content and access to other downloads
- Enhanced ability to manage your list of friends

How do you purchase these services? There are a few ways. You can purchase a bundle at a store (currently available with rebates) and install. You can also purchase cards with time on them.

For example:

- You can purchase a 12-month Xbox 360 Live subscription card for about $50 or a 3-month subscription card for around $20.

- If you purchase the 3-month premium gold pack, you receive a headset, a 3-month gold membership, 100 Microsoft points, and the Xbox Live arcade game, Joust. This costs about $40 but currently has a $10 rebate.

- Go for the big daddy and purchase the 12-month premium gold pack. This will get you a 12-month membership, the Xbox 360 headset, the Xbox Live arcade game, Bankshot Billiards, and 200 Microsoft points. This costs about $70, but currently has a $20 rebate.

If you’re not sure you want to pay for a membership, there is a free 48-hour trial offer, which allows you to try the service before deciding if you want to subscribe. Like any free trial, this is a great way to decide if this is the right service for you.

How do i play xbox 360 games that I downloaded from torrents onto my computer?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

so i downloaded a game through torrents and its a bunch of .rar files. i have winrar but i was wondering how could the game exist through a bunch of .rar files? when i extract them all will i be able to play the game using my pc? is there some kind of software that enables me to play xbox 360 games? what do i need to do?

First, you have to have a flashed Xbox 360. If you 360 isn’t flashed, I’d suggest either ordering one (I sell them – e2thejdot@yahoo.com) or going to 360mods.net (link under source) and figuring out how to do it yourself. You’re gonna spend roughly the same amount if you don’t have all the parts though.

Also, I’d suggest from experience that you watch where your download your games. itchycats.com is a safe site. If the game doesn’t have the right stealth packs on it, Microsoft will be able to track it and you’ll be banned from Live.

Im about to invest in a 360 arcade, so whats the best option for my old console?

The best thing is to put it in a box, keep it there for like 20-30years or so, if you do, when they become very uncommon u can sell it for more then u bought it for

if u dont want 2 wait then be nice and giv it to a freind or just sell it

If I buy an Xbox 360 in Dubai (which uses a PAL format) and I want to play games in Mumbai (PAL) will it work?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I heard that besides the NTSC/PAL formats, the DVD’s have region codes.

So what I wanted to know was, if I were to buy games in Mumbai would they work on an XBOX 360 bought from Dubai provided they both use the PAL format.
So does this mean that there is no DVD region lock?

It will work fine, your Dubai PAL xbox will be exactly the same as Mumbai PAL xbox’s.

I have 2 Xbox 360 consoles – can I have my same gamertag on both?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I have one in the basement and one upstairs and I’d like to share the one Xbox live / gamertag account between the two. Can this be done, and how?

It can be done, you just would need to recover your gamertag each time you play on the other one

How much should I sell my PlayStation 2, Gamecube, Xbox, Games and Accessories for?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I have a PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, 9 games total, 2 gamecube controllers, 2 xbox wireless controllers, 1 ps2 controller, all hookup cords, gameshark and gameshark memory card, gamecube memory card, ps2 memory card. The question is: How much for all?

I just sold an XBox with 4 controllers and a few games on Ebay for over $100 and a Playstation with 2 controllers and a couple of games for close to $100.
People are just not going to pay a lot because the new ones are out.
I would sell them individually on eBay and not all together. Put a reserve for the amount you are willing to part with them and see what happens. Look around on eBay first to see what other systems are going for.
Good Luck

PRICE of XBOX 360 Premium Console?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

I have 2 xbox 360 consoles. I am looking at selling either my BRAND NEW one or my USED (but good condition) one.

*BOth PREMIUM consoles with massive harddrive.

Accessories:
2x wireless controllers
3x games (Rainbow 6 VEGAS, Halo 2, PGR Racing)

My question is:
How much would each of these consoles my worth to a private buyer (on average). Considering they were $650 brand new about 6 months ago.
Thanks!

$650?!? You overpaid.

360 Premium (20GB) is $400
Controller is about $40
Rainbow 6 Vegas, Halo2 and PGR Racing are all Xbox (not 360) games and are about $20-30 each.

At most, the package (new) would be about $530 – not $650.

OR are you referring to the 360 Elite, which is black, and comes with a 120GB HDD – these were $479 each, and aren’t currently for sale. Supposedly, they’ll be returning later this year…maybe at a lower price…?

How can I make the sound on my home theatre system work with a game console(xbox 360)?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

When I turn my 360 there are different colors on the screen and no sound.

The Audio connection that comes from the xbox, don’t connect it to the tv (the red & white cables); connect them to your home theatre, most of the dvd players have those coming connections on the back part. Probably there’s a part where it says aux or video, after connecting those cables to your home theatre, you should put it on a function called Aux or Video that plays the coming sound from the cables connected, I don’t have a home theatre so I do more or less the same with my Microcomponent system and my ps2
