Are the points attached to the console or the gamertag. if so, if i bought another xbox in the future, could i recover my old gamertag along with the points. or will the points be lost forever. and much are 1800 ms points even worth now?

I have about 500$ and I want to get an Ipod touch and a Xbox 360 with Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2. So what should I do?

Well you will be waiting a while the next xbox isn’t expected until 2012. Get the new xbox, if you were referring to the xbox kinect, then you need a console for that anyway.
